South Tyrolean Gourmet Cuisine
Ulrich Plankensteiner, one of the most renowned chefs in South Tyrol and the wine conoisseur and sommelier Roland with worlwide experience provide a culinary dream team performing magic by creating the most refined delights in the alpine world with herbs, fresh products, recipies and scents of vines of all types. It is a unique feeling for our guests to wake up with the anticipation of being spoiled by Ulrich, Sommelier and their team with their always newly smelling gourmet paradise...and of having a Grappa at the rotary bar afterwards or smoking a precious Habana cigar.
Mirabell’s cuisine is one of the best in the entire Alpine region and is regarded as pure wellness by our guests. If you get carried away by these culinary delights once, you will become encaptured and will become a regular to the home of the Aurora butterfly.
Vine Pleasures
For wine loversMore than 400 white and red delights from all over the world can be found on the Mirabell wine list and round off this world of gourmets.Sometimes we also organize wine tastings in the hotel. Numerous guests have come into contact with the rich and selected choice of wines in the Mirabell and from then onwards become real wine lovers.
Chef Ulrich and sommelier experiment to find new symphonies of taste.
"If Ulrich serves asparagus with ham and the traditional Bolzano sauce, I will recommend the Sauvignon Vogler of Peter Dipoli, being a light, fresh white wine with peach and paprika aromas and sage scents in the background; when he serves the back of wild boar on red cabbage, there is no better drop than the dark Lagrein Riserva 2001/Ansitz Waldgries of Heinrich Plattner. This is a robust, strong and full-bodied wine with animal tones, which can’t hide dark wild berry aromas", the sommelier informed us in a gentle, professional and enthusiastic way. In addition to personal advice and daily wine recommendations, the sommelier offers personal wine tastings for small circles of interested guests. The wine tastings take place either in the Mirabell wine shop or, weather permitting, in the Mirabell garden.
